Streetfunk is a thriving organisation, based in the South East, which provides quality Hip Hop and Streetdance classes for all ages, ranging from 3 yrs old to adults. Streetfunk was founded by JP Omari who is widely known in the UK Hip Hop dance scene, as well as for his dedicated work over the past six years in the community dance sector. It was JP’s vision to establish a company that would give children of all abilities an opportunity to keep active and learn and appreciate Hip Hop dance styles. Boys dance is also very important to him as he fights to break the stigma that dance is only for girls. Fun, hard work and discipline lie at the heart of Streetfunk’s ethos. Everyone is given a chance to express themselves in a safe and friendly environment, so that through dance they gain self-confidence and the willpower to work hard to achieve anything in life!
Currently Streetfunk specialises in delivering masterclasses and workshops in schools and youth centres as well as teaching Junior ages (6 – 10 yrs), Boys groups and adults. It is also spreading the range of classes to include Mini ages (3 – 5 yrs), Girls groups and Senior ages (11 – 15 yrs).

Born and raised in Rome, JP has created his own unique energetic style, drawing from a rich and eclectic range of musical influences. His credits include winner of Vauxhall Tribes Regional Hip Hop Competition 2006 & the National Competition 2007; choreographer for a short dance film for Channel 4; and as a competitor on BBC1’s Strictly Dance Fever 2006 as part of the popular duo JP & Stacey.
In 2002, Hayley found Street Dance and that is where her passion for Hip Hop began! In the years that followed she helped to form a Street Dance Troup ‘S.T.O.R.M’ (Street Troup of Raw Movement) who went on to perform across the country with R’n’B singer Sandhya as well as other performances including Miss Brighton and the launch of Multimusiq.com. Alongside S.T.O.R.M she attended other Hip Hop Master Classes and also auditioned to become a ‘Honeybear’ dancer for the Brighton Bears basketball Team performing regularly at the Brighton Centre and occasionally at Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.
In 2007, Hayley met JP Omari, founder of Streetfunk, who presented her with the opportunity to begin teaching. Hayley embarked on this new challenge and is now teaching regularly with Streetfunk and independently.
Annelies’ background for the last twelve years has been a career in the financial services sector, which led six years ago to her current role as an Independent Mortgage Advisor.
Whilst developing her career in financial services she successfully developed an events organising company, partly as a hobby to satiate her passion for music and dance, but also to raise money for charity and showcase fresh talent around the UK. Annelies’ dance background to date is a teacher of Cuban salsa, she has an enormous passion for Cuban salsa and Afro Cuban dance and has travelled to Cuba several times over the past couple of years to develop her knowledge and train with some of the most renowned dance companies in Havana. Her passion for Streetdance and Breakin’ is a recent discovery, evolving from the growing desire to find a challenging solo dance rather than a partner dance. Annelies is a new member of the Streetfunk team and will be developing the role of Head of PR & Marketing whilst maintaining her career as a mortgage advisor at the same time.
