Hey, My name is Machis Baboulene. I'm a professional dancer from Brighton! I first started dance when I was about 8, I've been taking Streetfunk classes since then! Hip Hop has always been the main focus in my dance, i love the energy and the love around the culture. Throughout my dance career I've won many competitions both as a dancer and a choreographer include being UK champions multiple times in JP's crew BN1 and colaborativly choreographing for a crew which came 2nd at the world championships in 2019! I will always try to push my students to be better than me, it is the best way for us all to progress and become the best dancers we can be!
I started performing from a very young age of about 3, training in tap, modern, jazz & also gymnastics. I then took an interest in acting and joined a local theatre school. It wasn’t until I was about 13 that I really found my forte in Hip Hop & street Dance. I competed in UDO competitions and also represented England in Pisa at world dance championships. After leaving school I studied Dance & performing arts, alongside teaching students aged 4-16. Teaching classes wasn't enough so I then created an all girl dance crew D-code who also then competed in UDO. In march 2019 I then relocated from Southampton to Brighton & can't wait to get back in the studio.
I have worked for Sussex Partnership Trust within different teams and roles for the last 19 years. Coming from such a large corporation and having helped set up systems for a new service, I am able to cast an analytical eye and implement changes and structure within the company, helping lead it into a new era, enabling growth.
I work closely with the team behind the scenes to help innovate and create a quality service.
I provide reflective supervision and training to equip staff with the tools to provide you with a 10x experience.
Prior to my time with the NHS,
I worked in a senior role with children from difficult backgrounds who were taken into care.
I am also JP’s partner and mother to our beautiful children.

Hi,I’m Sam Peirce, and I’m 14 years old. I’ve been dancing at Streetfunk for 5 years, and co- teaching for nearly 2. I have been in many shows and performances, as well as having represented Streetfunk at competitions in crews, and in solos. I love being a co- teacher at Streetfunk because the students are so fun and eager to learn, and we always have a great time! In addition, I’m always trying to better myself, and with teaching I always learn something useful from the students.
ADMINISTRATION & CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER
I have been part of the Streetfunk team for 3 years. I love my job as I get to combine my passion for dance & performance with a customer facing role and ensuring the smooth running of Streetfunk’s day to day tasks. I am a qualified dance teacher with first aid and DBS qualifications which has enabled me to work across the country at prestigious dance schools. I have a degree in Musical Theatre and have been lucky enough to perform in many musicals, most recently a 20’s themed tap show in Dublin!
My name is Will and I’ve been dancing for the past 10 years as a student, a performer and a teacher at Streetfunk dance school. The reason that I love to dance is because it allows me to show my creativity through movement and also allows me the skills I need to become my own individual. I have been teaching for the last 4 years starting from the bottom to the top with my fellow teachers ands it’s a great experience and a great life style which I have chosen for myself. I have started using my skills I’ve developed over the years to become a performer for different shows of all styles such as street dance to contemporary to ballet. I recently became a member of a London based dance crew called birdgang to take different elements and aspects from the world of dance so that I can be the best dancer I can be.
Dance is one of my greatest passions in life. I have been dancing pretty much since I could walk starting off in a class called boogie babies. I have danced and competed in all kinds of styles from tap, ballet and contemporary through to street dance and commercial, and many others. I have always had an interest in teaching from a young age, as I love sharing my knowledge and it gives me great joy helping others accomplish new things.
I have recently finished studying dance, sport science and personal training at Varndean college and can’t wait to see what great things are to come in the future!
Hi! Im Tash and I've been a part of Streetfunk for over 10 years! I still remember my first class with JP and hope to make the same positive impact with the children I teach as J did for me growing up. I absolutely love working with everyone of the children. It's such a great feeling watching them learn and grow both through dance and as human beings. I am currently part of Novalux, Streetfunk's over 18 competition crew, which helps me to develop my own skills in many styles to pass on in class.
MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER/DANCE TEACHER
After graduating with a 1:1 in Graphic Design from the University of Brighton I have combined my passion for dance and creating content to take the role of Streetfunk’s Social Media Officer as well as a dance teacher. I have been dancing a variety of dance styles since the age of 2 but primarily focus on Streetdance and Afrobeats. I have worked with number of well-established Sussex based dance companies and I have been featured in multiple productions including the annual Pride tribute created/produced by the 201 Dance Company. Having an in-depth knowledge of dance has helped me further with creating exciting, insightful and successful content for Streetfunk.
I've been dancing for 20 years, started when I was 6 & I'm trained in a wide range of classical styles as well as all major Street styles. I studied a dance degree at the University of East London. This taught me many things including dance history, dance on screen, managing businesses, how to run events, & had extensive training in StreetDance. I learned from some of the UK's pioneering practitioners & I now work freelance around the UK for various companies such as Pineapple Community, The movement factory, HHI, Marina Studios & now with my new dance family, Streetfunk! One day I hope to start my own company that incorporates the skill sets I gained at Uni while continuing to teach & compete with the SF Family.
